About me

I am a toolmaker. I make tools for guitar players.

After a 30-year corporate career, I decided to return to my lifelong love of fine musical instruments and devote all my energy to building the finest possible tools for guitar players—archtop guitars.

After a long, independent study of lutherie, I attended the Galloup School of Lutherie in Michigan, USA. Two teachers there, Matt Zalewski and Sam Guidry, were pivotal to my education. Upon graduation, I knew two things: that I didn't want to make copies of Martin and Gibson guitars, and that I needed to seek additional knowledge from the very best in the field.

I learned directly and indirectly from my heroes, the finest luthiers: Ken Parker, Linda Manzer, Jimmy D'Aquisto, Lloyd Loar, Michael Greenfield, and others. I studied their work meticulously, examined photos with a magnifying glass, tried to understand their design choices, and, when I had the opportunity, asked questions. I have enormous respect for all of them, especially Ken Parker, who dedicated so much time and knowledge to me, pushing me to build and giving me the confidence to do so.
I miss you, Ken.

The line of instruments I develop now takes everything that creates positive emotions related to tradition, but does not view it as a limitation. These beautiful, woody instruments are technologically advanced as physical structures and as sound generators. They are traditional at first glance, but under closer examination, one can find titanium alloy here and carbon fiber reinforcement there. These "novelties" are not there for the sake of modernity. They always serve a clear purpose: the quality of sound generated and playing comfort. Guitars are, in the end, tools for guitarists. Great tools help artists make their art great.

On top of that, I am the father of Magdalena, an architect, and Michał, an aeronautical engineer. My partner Ewa and I love to travel long distances in a van and see the world together. Michał and I are pilots as well—Michał flies commercial jets, and I fly gliders. I am also a grandfather of two boys and, overall, a happy man.
